 A Day of Fun and Community Engagement Le Grand, [State], April 9, 2024 - The Le Grand Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter hosted a vibrant and engaging community event on Saturday, March 30th, from 10:00 am to noon. The event, dubbed 'Le Grand FFA Easter Extravaganza,' saw a remarkable turnout with approximately 150 families and 30 FFA club students in attendance. 

 

A Festive Atmosphere with Concession Delights 

 

The event kicked off at 10:00 am with a bustling atmosphere as families arrived to participate in the festivities. A highlight of the event was the concession stand, which offered a variety of delicious food and snacks. From hot dogs and popcorn to sweet treats, attendees had a plethora of options to choose from, ensuring that both kids and adults were well-fed and satisfied throughout the event.

A recent event brought together middle schoolers from Plainsburg Elementary, Le Grand Elementary, and Cesar Chavez Middle School for an exciting visit to Le Grand High School. The day was filled with anticipation and curiosity as the young students embarked on a journey to explore the grounds of the esteemed high school, setting foot on the campus that would potentially shape their academic futures.

On March 27th, Le Grand High School and the vibrant community of Le Grand and Planada joined forces for an extraordinary event—the blood drive. From the early hours of 7 am to noon, the town pulsated with goodwill and determination as donors gathered to give the gift of life.

 

This particular blood drive was not only about saving lives through blood donations but also about rallying support for a cause that resonated deeply with the community. As volunteers set up the donation center, anticipation filled the air, and the buzz of excitement reverberated through the streets.

On Friday, May 17, Le Grand High School buzzed with excitement as students gathered for a highly anticipated rally. The event was a pivotal moment in the school's calendar, featuring nine dedicated candidates vying for student office positions. These aspiring leaders took to the stage to deliver compelling speeches, each aiming to secure the votes of their peers.

The candidates included Angel Amezcua, Victoria Bucio, Angie Gonzalez, Gissele Granados, Damien Lemus, Jesus Lopez, Ivan Morales, Kaitlyn Rabena, and Andrea Tellez. Each student brought their unique vision and passion to the forefront, striving to convince their classmates that they were the best choice for the various leadership roles available.

Angel Amezcua kicked off the speeches with a focus on fostering a more inclusive school environment. Victoria Bucio followed, emphasizing the importance of academic excellence and student support systems. Angie Gonzalez captivated the audience with her plans for increasing school spirit and community involvement, while Gissele Granados highlighted her commitment to enhancing student resources and extracurricular activities.

Le Grand High School Dominates Softball Matches: Victories Against Gustine and Denair

The Bulldogs threatening to increase their lead over Denair

Le Grand High School's softball team showcased their dominance in recent matchups against Gustine High School and Denair High School, securing victories with impressive scores. On March 19th, Le Grand High School faced Gustine High School in an exhilarating game that ended in a resounding 18-1 victory. Just two days later, on March 21st, they continued their winning streak by defeating Denair High School with a score of 10-3.

 

In the showdown against Gustine High School, Le Grand's softball team displayed exceptional teamwork, skill, and determination from the onset. Their offense was relentless, consistently driving in runs throughout the game. With powerful batting performances and strategic base running, they managed to accumulate a staggering 18 runs. Additionally, Le Grand's defense was impenetrable, effectively shutting down Gustine's attempts to score. The game concluded with a commanding 18-1 victory for Le Grand High School, leaving a clear mark of their superiority on the field.
