The Le Grand Bulldogs leaned on their captains and explosive playmakers Friday night to secure a statement victory over the Orestimba Warriors. Behind the leadership of captains Juan Carlos Nava, Thomas Benting, Diego Martinez, and Jaime Casares, the Bulldogs set the tone early and never looked back in a high-energy matchup.

Winning the coin toss, the Bulldogs elected to receive, immediately putting the ball in the hands of their playmakers. Blake Lua fielded the kick alongside Andres Aguilar, and on the very first play, Martinez dialed up a jet sweep pass to Aguilar, who broke free for seven yards. On the next snap, Benting muscled across for a fresh set of downs, keeping the drive alive.

Moments later, Martinez found Lua deep for a massive gain, pushing the Bulldogs into prime scoring position. With first-and-goal looming, Benting finished the drive by powering through the line for the opening touchdown, giving Le Grand a 7-0 lead.

Orestimba responded with a methodical drive of their own. Quarterback No. 9 moved the chains on third down, but the Bulldogs’ defense held firm, forcing the Warriors to settle for a 25-yard field goal that trimmed the lead to 7-3.

Le Grand answered in emphatic fashion. Martinez launched a deep strike to Lua, who raced 85 yards to the end zone for a momentum-shifting touchdown. Though the extra point attempt was off target, the Bulldogs stretched their lead to 13-3.

The Warriors clawed back with a touchdown drive of their own, but No. 75 Alex Leyva came up huge by blocking the extra point, keeping the Bulldogs ahead 13-9. That defensive spark carried over when the Warriors took another shot at the end zone—only to be denied by Lua, who hauled in a clutch interception.

Benting made sure the turnover counted, capping the ensuing drive with another bulldozing rushing touchdown to extend the advantage to 20-9. On the Warriors’ next series, Cesar Castro stepped up with another one handed interception, and Martinez showed off his athleticism with a thrilling 51-yard scramble on 3rd-and-3 to keep the Bulldogs rolling.

Entering the fourth quarter, Le Grand’s ground game continued to punish Orestimba’s defense. Benting broke loose on a 30-yard sprint to set up another scoring opportunity. Then, showcasing his versatility, Benting slipped behind the defense on a go route, hauled in a perfectly placed pass, and scored his third touchdown of the night. That play sealed the Bulldogs’ commanding 33-15 advantage.

With big plays on both sides of the ball and their captains leading the charge, the Bulldogs demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and explosive talent. Lua’s two-way performance, Benting’s three-touchdown night, and Martinez’s clutch passing and scrambling highlighted a complete team effort that left Orestimba chasing throughout the contest.

Le Grand’s victory was more than just another win—it was a showcase of their depth, leadership, and determination to keep their season’s momentum alive.
