Reflecting on Senior Year and Beyond In this interview, we sit down with a remarkable individual Nathaly Zavala, who has not only made their mark on the school but has also left an indelible impact on the hearts of their peers. This individual, serving as the ASB President, has dedicated their senior year to enhancing the high school experience for all. They have been a driving force behind rallies, school activities, and countless moments of school spirit. As we delve into their senior year journey, we'll learn about their favorite classes, teachers, and the bittersweet experience of saying goodbye to cherished memories. We'll also explore their aspirations beyond high school, as they share their plans for higher education and a dream to serve their community as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Join us as we gain insights into the life of an ASB President, their love for soccer, and the wisdom they wish to impart on the incoming freshman class. Below are the questions asked as well as the answers from our interviewee.
How is ASB? ASB is great. I love everything about it and being able to lead rally’s and school activities. Although there is a lot of work that needs to be done behind the scenes it is all worth it at the end of the day.
How are you enjoying your senior year? Senior year has been great thus far it seems to be going by quite fast which scares me but I am ready to see what the next chapter will be.
Favorite teacher on campus? My favorite teachers on campus are Mr. Govea and Mr. Piuser both have had great impacts on me throughout my time here at LGHS and I will forever be grateful to them for their advice, commitment, and dedication. There truly does need to be more teachers in this world like them.
Favorite class? My favorite class would have to be Medical Terminology with Ms.Marshall because of all the laughs and memories.
How was your final year of cheer? My final year of cheer was bittersweet and sad to say goodbye to some of my best high school memories but I am ready to move onto better and bigger things.
Anything you’d like to say to the freshman? To the freshman class I would say to never take small moments for granted as well as to never be afraid to stand up for yourself and what is right.
Is there anything hard about your senior year? The hardest thing about senior year is going through the year knowing most of these moments and events will be some of the last.
What subject was your least favorite? My least favorite subject would have to be Math.
What are your hopes for soccer season? I am extremely excited for soccer season to start although it will be my last season playing after twelve years. I am looking forward to the amazing team I will be playing with this year.
What are your plans after graduation? My plans after graduation are to obtain a bachelor's degree in biology with an emphasis in Human Anatomy. I would love to one day become a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and serve our central valley to give back to the community who has always given to me.
How has being an ASB president affected you? Being ASB President has given me an amazing experience to get to know everyone and being able to have a position in which I am able to represent LGHS to the best of my abilities. I have been given a platform to speak on behalf of the entire student body which I will forever be grateful for.
