The Le Grands track team showcased their exceptional talent and hard work during the recent track meets held on Wednesday, March 6th and Friday, March 8th. With outstanding performances and multiple personal records (PRs) achieved, the team demonstrated their dedication and prowess on the track and in the field.

 

On March 8th, the athletes of Le Grands displayed remarkable improvements and achievements across various events. In the varsity (A) 4x100m relay, Brian Santos, Esteban Lua, Rafael Gonzalez, and Alexis Aguilar set the pace with an impressive time of 47.66, while the varsity (B) team, comprised of Marco Rios, Julian Garcia, Miguel Moreno, and Adan Cazares, clocked in at 49.33, showcasing their formidable depth.

Individually, several athletes delivered standout performances. Marco Rios shattered his personal record in the 100m dash with a blazing time of 12.96, setting a new benchmark for himself. Julian Garcia showcased his speed in the 200m, achieving a personal best of 25.79. Additionally, Alexis Rodriguez excelled in the 1600m, crossing the finish line with a PR of 5:46.99, while Victor Velazco demonstrated remarkable improvement with a PR of 6:40.14 in the same event. Velazco continued his success in the 3200m, setting a new personal record of 13:20.57.

 

The 4x400m relay team, composed of Julian Garcia, Rafael Gonzalez, Adan Cazares, and Alexis Aguilar, delivered a stellar performance, achieving a PR time of 3:54.65, highlighting their teamwork and determination. Esteban Lua showcased his skills in the long jump, achieving a personal best of 18’ 4”, while Marco Rios leaped to a distance of 16’ 9”. Angel Martinez impressed in the triple jump, achieving a personal record of 29’.

On the women's side, the varsity (A) 4x100m relay team, consisting of Geraldine Reyes, Yesenia Munoz, Athina Higareda, and Dyannara Nava, showcased their speed and coordination, achieving a PR time of 55.62. The 4x400m relay team, composed of Geraldine Reyes, Yesenia Munoz, Diana Gonzales, and Natalie Martinez, also delivered a strong performance, achieving a PR time of 4:55.80.

 

Individually, Yesenia Munoz excelled in the 100m dash, achieving a personal best of 14.35, while Geraldine Reyes achieved a PR of 14.77 in the same event. In the 100m hurdles, Julissa Hurtado impressed with a PR time of 21.99. Athina Higareda soared to a new personal best of 14’ 1” in the long jump, while Diana Gonzales achieved a PR of 29’ in the triple jump.

 

The Le Grands track team's outstanding performances at the March meets underscore their dedication, hard work, and talent.
