- How long have you been teaching your PE class?
I have been teaching PE class for 12 years
- Is there another class you would like to teach?
College level courses, Human Performance in Sports with an emphasis on sprint mechanics.
- If you weren't a teacher, what other job would you like to do?
Firefighter
- Have you taught PE classes at other schools?
Yes, In San Jose and Hilmar.
- Before being a PE teacher, where did you work?
I worked as a mechanic assistant at Stanislaus State.
- What inspired you to become a PE teacher?
Originally I wanted to coach college Track and Field but being very difficult to get into, I chose the next closest thing to that.
- What do you enjoy most about teaching PE to students?
I enjoy connecting with students the most.
- Are there any memorable moments or achievements in your teaching career that stand out to you?
I helped in receiving a grant from the Merced County Office of Ed. which helped turn our weight room into what it is today.
- What teaching techniques or strategies do you find most effective in engaging students in PE class?
The best strategy is giving respect to students.
- How did it feel to be selected as the “Teacher of the month” for our school.
To be selected as teacher of the month was very surprising and I felt very honored and appreciated.
